Chinese information technology companies are interested in coming to Serbia to launch their production but also build development centres, especially in the Industrial Park in Borča – said today the Minister without Portfolio in charge of Innovation and Technological Development, Nenad Popovic, who is attending the second The Digital Chinese Summit in Fujian, China.
During the first summit day, Popovic met with representatives of several Chinese telecommunications, artificial intelligence and robotics companies, and, according to him, all of them have expressed interest in coming to Serbia.
In a press release, Popovic says that Serbia is a European country with the biggest Chinese investments and that more investments are expected in modern technologies, primarily once the Industrial Park in Borča is finished. The construction of this park will start this year.
“The Chinese want to use what is best in Serbia, and that is the know-how of our engineers. Serbian know-how in cooperation with Chinese technology can be a milestone in the technological and industrial development of Serbia,” Popovic added.
The Serbian Minister attended the opening of the forum this morning and will take part in tomorrow’s panel on the digital sea shipping route. Panels and round tables at the forum will deal with the topics such as smart cities, industrial internet, digital ecology and digital health.
1,500 persons, companies and organizations were invited to attend the summit which has an exhibition area spanning almost 60,000 square metres.
